Welcome to the Black Beacon
The Black Beacon showcases the very best of mountain running in South Wales.
Set amongst the rugged peaks of the Bannau Brycheiniog and Black Mountains, the event offers four unforgettable challenges ranging from a rewarding mountain adventure to a demanding 100-mile ultra marathon.
Runners can expect dramatic ridgelines, remote trails, iconic summits and spectacular views stretching across the Welsh mountains. The routes explore some of the finest landscapes in the country, passing through wild open terrain and crossing peaks that have inspired walkers and runners for generations.
November brings a unique atmosphere to the hills. Crisp mornings, changing colours, dramatic skies and the possibility of true mountain weather create an experience unlike any other time of year. Conditions can be challenging, but they are also part of what makes Black Beacon such a memorable event.
Every route is fully marked and supported by experienced marshals and well-stocked checkpoints, allowing runners to focus on the challenge ahead and the incredible landscapes around them.
